Grazie ad un budget di 20 milioni di Euro, AICS Tirana finanzia e gestisce 8 progetti per la Salute e la lotta alla violenza di genere nei Balcani Occidentali.

With a budget of €19,4 million, AICS Tirana finances and manages 7 projects for Health and the fight against Gender-based violence in the Western Balkans (Albania: 4 grants and 1 soft loan; Bosnia and Herzegovina: 1 grant; Kosovo: 1 grant).

AICS Tirana mainly focuses on supporting national governments in implementing sustainable and inclusive health governance in line with the “Leave no one behind” principle. Among the different goals included in the six countries’ development strategies, the provision of basic public services to all citizens is central.

The main activities include:

  • Support for sustainable and inclusive health governance according to the “Leave No One Behind” principle;
  • Improvement of healthcare facilities, staff training, and technical assistance for the development and updating of procedures and protocols, exchange of best practices and expertise;
  • Collaboration with research institutions and hospitals in the Italian system;
  • Strengthening measures taken by Albanian institutions to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and violence against women.
