The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has published a call for proposals inviting potentially interested parties to submit pre-qualification proposals for the construction of the “Ars Aevi” Museum of Contemporary Art in Sarajevo.

As is well known, the “Ars Aevi” Museum project was conceived during the siege of the city to house the artworks of the eponymous collection, the fruit of the generosity of numerous international artists, among whom the Italian Michelangelo Pistoletto played a leading role. Italy has always been at the forefront of promoting this initiative and, in recent years, relaunching it when the project seemed hopelessly stalled. Suffice it to recall the commitment of architect Renzo Piano, who donated the model of the Museum free of charge, as well as the funding provided by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) for the detailed construction project, submitted in 2023.

Please refer to the call for proposals (available at the following link: https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/228773) for more details on the eligibility requirements for participating entities. The deadline for expressions of interest is April 22.
