An evocative historical reenactment connected centuries, culture, and community of Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the “Medieval Days” festival through a rich and varied program for all generations. AICS Tirana also participated in the event, supported by the “Via delle Cascate” project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), and implemented by CISP in partnership with Borghi più belli d’Italia, IPSIA, and the LiNK Mostar entrepreneurial center.
The Acting Head of AICS Tirana, Letizia Fischioni, had the honor of officially opening the event.
More than one hundred knights filled the heart of the old town, creating impressive scenes of battles and medieval life. The artwork of 60 students from four elementary schools in the municipality of Jajce, who participated in the “Young Guardians of Heritage” competition, was exhibited. Through works on the themes of the Fortress as a guardian of nature and cultural heritage as part of the natural ecosystem, the students demonstrated incredible creativity, and the jury awarded the six best authors.
The students of the Jajce Higher Vocational School, whose culinary skills delighted numerous visitors and festival attendees, created a wonderful atmosphere and provided refreshments for the participants.
The organizers, the Agency for Cultural, Historical, and Natural Heritage and the Development of Tourism Potential of the City of Jajce, with the support of the Municipality of Jajce, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), CISP, the Association of Knights of the Royal City of Jajce, ICOMOS in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and UNESCO, offered an unforgettable experience, which concluded in the evening with a fireworks display.
