As part of the “Typic-Al – Improving Food Safety Standards along the Albanian Supply Chains of Typical Local Products” project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation with a contribution of €3 million and implemented by CIHEAM Bari, a delivery ceremony for agricultural machinery and a drone was held at the Technology Transfer Center in Fushë-Krujë, Albania. The ceremony was attended by the Albanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, the AICS Tirana Acting Head of Office, Letizia Fischioni, representatives of CIHEAM Bari, and project beneficiaries.
The agricultural drone will be used for the first time in Albania and represents a significant investment in the modernization of the agricultural sector. It also provides concrete support to farmers as a working tool for real-time crop monitoring, plant health assessment, and more efficient use of inputs, with a direct impact on increased yields and quality. This tool has been made available to the Technology Transfer Centers of Fushë-Krujë and Shkodër, and to farmers, as part of a broader investment package that also includes modern agricultural machinery, such as tractors, rotary cultivators, sprayers, cultivators, and harvesters.
The goal is to enhance the unique characteristics of local products and increase productivity and marketing and export options, modernize farm mechanization, and introduce new “smart” technology.
