Save the Children in Albania, with the support of the Italian Development Cooperation (MAECI and AICS), launched today the new project “I.N.V.E.S.T. – Inspiring New Ventures, Entrepreneurial Skills and Training” during a kickoff event.

The ceremony gathered representatives from public institutions, international partners, donors, the private sector, civil society organizations, and young people to mark the start of a new initiative aimed at strengthening youth employment opportunities and vocational skills development in Albania.

Youth unemployment and the transition from education to employment remain key challenges for many young people in Albania, particularly for those not in employment, education, or training (NEET). The I.N.V.E.S.T. project aims to address these challenges by strengthening vocational education and training systems, enhancing labor market-relevant skills, and promoting youth entrepreneurship.

The project will focus on supporting young people aged 15–29 through skills development, career guidance, and work-based learning opportunities, while fostering stronger cooperation between vocational education institutions, public institutions, and the private sector.

The initiative is implemented by Save the Children in Albania and Save the Children Italy, with the financial support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, in cooperation with the National Agency for Employment and Skills (AKPA) and in partnership with ANTTARC, Confindustria Albania, IFOA, and Develhope.

The launch event presented project’s objectives, expected results, and strategic partnerships, while encouraging dialogue on strengthening vocational education and creating sustainable employment pathways for young people in Albania.
