Belgrade, November 27, 2024_The second Steering Committee of “Serbia – EU Support for Internal Market” project, funded by the European Union with a budget of 8 MLN EUR, 1.7 MLN managed by AICS Tirana, was held yesterday morning in Belgrade.
Stefania Vizzaccaro, AICS Tirana Head of Office, attended the meeting along with representatives of the main project’s stakeholders such as Inma Zamora, Team Leader on behalf of FIIAPP (International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policy), Eva Pruzincova from SAIDC (Slovak Agency for Development Cooperation) and Min. Mazzella from ADM (Italian Agency of Customs and Monopolies).
Aiming at improving Serbian institutional agents’ efficiency and creating an attractive environment for operators, contributing to the alignment of the EU acquis on the internal market, “Serbia – EU Support for Internal Market” works on several fronts in a balanced way. Activities focus on market surveillance, quality infrastructure, e-commerce, one-stop shops, consumer protection, intellectual property rights, competition and state aid control. These issues are important and strategic for Serbian Authorities due to structural challenges in sensitive areas where current legislation is softly applied and can be avoided through special procedures.
Activities in the framework of the italian component will be carried out thanks to the technical support provided by ADM, focusing on the legal and regulatory framework, strengthening institutional capacities and skills especially in the field of market surveillance and infrastructure quality.
