EU4Justice 3rd Steering Committee Meeting

Tirana, September 23, 2024_ The 3rd Stakeholders Committee Meeting of the EU4Justice Project, an EU-funded project with the contribution of Italy and France, was held today at Tirana International Hotel. Representatives of all consortium partners – leading partner Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (AICS), Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIIAPP), and Expertise France (EF) – in addition to representatives of the EU Delegation to Albania, along with the presence of project’ beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders attended the meeting to discuss the Progress Report related to activities carried out in the last 6 months and the next work plan.
The project team provided an overview of the main achievements and implementation challenges, as well as a brief summary of the activities, mobilized experts, missions, training/workshops, and supported working groups during the reporting period. According to the new work plan presented and discussed at the meeting, the next activities will focus on strengthening cooperation with beneficiaries to meet their needs and expectations, through the dedicated work of the project team supported by international short-term expertise.
The project’s overall objective is to support the judiciary governance institutions in Albania to implement justice reform by strengthening their independence, transparency, efficiency, and accountability, improving inter-institutional coordination, and building public trust in the justice system in line with European standards and best practices, focused on improving the performance of HJC, HPC, and HJI in the consolidation of justice system independence, accountability, transparency, and functionality.
Officially launched on February 3, 2023, with a total budget of 3.43 million Euros, the project will continue to support the beneficiaries in implementing the justice reform.
