Open public-private space for artists in Kosovo thanks to “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs)” programme

Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans (CC4WBs) is a regional programme funded by the the European Union with a total budget of 8 million euro (1,4 handled by AICS Tirana) aimed at promoting culture as a tool to enhance social cohesion and sustainable development, reconciliation and good neighbor relationships in the Western Balkans through public notices and grants for artists and creative people.
Shtatëmbëdhjetë – Fondacioni17, a no-profit organization funded in 2018 and working in cultural promotion in Kosovo, has been supported by CC4WBs to renovate a building owned by Kryeqyteti Prishtina (Prishtina Municipality) in order to create an open environment for private and public entities, artists and individuals, adopting an inclusive approach and to stimulate professional growth. This space includes a reading room, a co-working area, a painting and an interdisciplinary room, an editing/audio-video studio.
This project will also promote residences between Shkodra, Albania and Skopje, North Macedonia to stimulate trans-boundaries synergies and cultural exchanges, in addition to workshops, training sessions and community match-up.
